The University of Iowa diver Lisette Planken placed eighth in the one-meterboard at the 2003 World Swimming and Diving Championships in Barcelona, Spain. Plankenrecorded a score of 272.05.
The Amersfort, Netherlands, native will compete in the three-meter competition this Friday.Planken was an all-American as a sophomore last season. She finished fourth at the NCAAChampionships in the one-meter competition with a score of 314.90, and ninth in the three-meterwith a score of 499.55.
She was named Big Ten Diver of the Week twice during the year.
