Moore Earns Big Ten Honor

IOWA CITY, IA – Hawkeye wrestler Cliff Moore has been named Big Ten Wrestler of the Week. Moore, a senior from Dubuque, IA, wrestles at 141 pounds for Iowa.

Moore was honored for defeating second-ranked Dylan Long of Northern Iowa, 15-4, to spark the Hawkeyes to a 27-10 win over Northern Iowa last week. Moore scored his first takedown in nine seconds and did not look back, scoring all six takedowns in the match. Overall, he scored four points in the first period, five in the second and six in the third. Iowa Head Coach Jim Zalesky picked up his 100th career coaching victory with the win over the Panthers.

Moore and the Hawkeyes will travel to the 41st annual Midlands Championships in Evanston, IL, Dec. 29-30.
