The University of Iowa women’s rowing team won one of four events against the Texas Longhorns Friday afternoon.
In the Varsity Four, Iowa timed an 8:08.8, beating Texas by over 30 seconds. In the Varsity Eight, Texas’ 14th-ranked boat beat the Hawkeyes by a little over three seconds. Iowa’s 1N8+ timed an 8:02.5, losing to Texas’ time of 7:49.1. In the 2N8+, Iowa was edged by four-hundredths of a second.
The Hawkeyes will continue competition at the Longhorn Invitational tomorrow.
