Iowa Wins Four Matches in Day Two

LINCOLN, NE – In the second day of competition at the Nebraska Invitational the Hawkeyes came away with just four victories against a very good set of competition. Iowa compiled a 4-12 record in both singles and doubles matches.

Brett Taylor led the way for the Hawkeyes in the second day of competition. Taylor had victories in both of his singles and doubles matches. He defeated Drake’s Chris Lueth in straight sets (7-6, 7-5). He then teamed up with Kyle Markhom to defeat Minnesota’s Nick Edlefson and Chi Pham (8-6). Andrew Holm also came away with a victory in straight sets for the Hawkeys. Holm defeated Karl Jones of Nebraska (6-4, 7-5). Chaitu Malempoti and Bart van Monsjou were victorious for Iowa in the second day of competition. The two defeated Minnesota’s Sion Wilkins and Pete Torgrimson.

The Hawkeyes will continue competition in the Nebraska Invitational tomorrow morning with the first session beginning at 9 a.m.
