It’s time to get blown away…at the 2004 Black and Gold Basketball Blowout presented by Mediacom, the home of the Iowa Football Replay Show.
This year’s Blowout will be staged inside Carver-Hawkeye Arena either immediately before or immediately after the Iowa-Purdue football game on Saturday, Nov. 6, at Kinnick Stadium. Tipoff time for the Blowout will be announced when the Big Ten Conference announces the television plans for Big Ten football on Nov. 6 and the kickoff times that match that schedule.
The 2004 Blowout will be played Saturday, Nov. 6. The start time will be determined when the Big Ten Conference determines the start time for the Iowa-Purdue football game.

This year’s Blowout will provide fans and friends of the University of Iowa and the Iowa Hawkeyes a first look at Coach Steve Alford’s Hawkeyes…from upperclass standouts Greg Brunner, Pierre Pierce and Jeff Horner to newcomers like Seth Gorney and Doug Thomas.
As in the past, there will be a free gift for everyone entering the Arena, a limited supply of this year’s official UI men’s basketball trading card set, and randomly selected winners of prizes of collectibles, tickets and souvenirs announced throughout the pre-game and the scrimmage itself. The event also includes pre-game photo opportunities, special halftime entertainment, and a post-event autograph session with the 2004-05 Hawkeyes..
General admission tickets priced at $5 each are currently on sale at the UI Athletic Ticket Office. Season, mini-season, single-game and discounted group tickets are also available for the Hawkeyes’ 18-game home season that tips off officially Friday, Nov. 19, when Alford’s squad entertains Western Illinois.
