The 44th-ranked Iowa women’s tennis team was defeated by 74th-ranked Nebraska Friday afternoon, 5-2. The Hawkeyes fall to 1-2 overall.

Hillary Mintz continued her dominance at the No. 2 position, defeating Imke Reimers, 6-4, 6-2. At the No. 3 spot, Anastasia Zhukova earned a win over Milena Schulz-Gartner, 6-4, 6-4. Meg Racette took 19th-ranked Gitta Ostermann into three sets, but was finally overcome, 6-4, 6-7, 6-0. Hilary Tyler and Jacqueline Lee also took their singles matches into a third set.

The Hawkeyes will compete tomorrow against Washington State beginning at 10 a.m.
