IOWA CITY, IA –

The 62nd-ranked Iowa women’s tennis team defeated No. 75 Ohio State, 6-1, Friday night. The Hawkeyes move to 8-5 overall, 2-0 in the Big Ten.

In doubles, Meg Racette and Hillary Mintz quickly defeated Lindsey Adams and Sonia Ruzimovsky, 8-2, at the No. 1 spot. Anastasia Zhukova and Hilary Tyler clinched the doubles point with a win over Emily DeCamilla and Meredith Vincent, 8-6. The duo extends their win streak to nine.

Milica Veselinovic was the first to win in singles, dominating Meredith Vincent, 6-3, 6-1. Racette won against Lindsey Adams, 6-2, 6-1, at the No. 1 spot. Mintz clinched the win for the Hawkeyes, defeating Emily DeCamilla, 6-1, 6-2. At the No. 3 position, Zhukova took Sonia Rusimovsky into a third set, winning 4-6, 6-0, 1-0 (9). Jacqueline Lee also took her opponent into a third set, defeating Kristin Messmer, 4-6, 6-1, 1-0 (6).

The Hawkeyes return to action April 2 when they travel to Michigan.
