Today the University of Iowa men’s track and field team wrapped up competition in the 9th Annual Tom Botts Invitational held by the University of Missouri. The Hawkeyes competed against Iowa State, Southwest Missouri State, and Kansas in the two-day event.
Three individual Iowa athletes were tops in their events and the Hawks also picked up gold in the 4×100 meter relay. Senior Tony Rakaric won gold and qualified for the NCAA Regional meet in the 3,000 meter steeple chase. Freshmen Jeff Raymond and Matty Gorman placed first in the pole vault and triple jump, respectively. Nine competitors also set collegiate bests today.
The Iowa men host the Musco Twilight VII next Saturday at the Francis X. Cretzmeyer Track.
