The Iowa Hawkeyes finished the first day of competition at the Boilermaker Invitational in fifth place. In the 13 team tournament hosted by Purdue University in West Lafayette, IN, the Hawkeyes find themselves tied with in-state rival Iowa State (+13) and one stroke behind Big Ten rival Illinois (+12).

Jonathan Feldick led Iowa with a stellar round of two-under par and is currently tied for third place. Bennet Hammerberg had a solid round as well finishing day one tied in 19th place and finishing with a score of four-over par. Todd Larson (T34, +8), Dan Holterhaus (T47, +10), and Brian deBuhr (T49, +11) also competed for Iowa.

The Hawkeyes will hit the links tomorrow to finish the final round of the Boilermaker Invitational.
