THIS WEEK — The Iowa Men’s Golf team will travel to Ann Arbor, MI, to compete in the Wolverine Invitational on Saturday and Sunday at U-M Golf Course. The 54-hole tournament will begin both days with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start. The golfers will play 36 holes Saturday and 18 Sunday. The U-M Golf Course is par 72 and is 6,704 yards long.

THE COMPETITION — The competing teams will be Ball State, Charlotte, E. Michigan, Furman, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas State, Miami (OH), Michigan, Oregon State, Penn State, UNC-Greensboro, UNC-Wilmington, Wisconsin, and Xavier.

LAST TIME OUT — Iowa placed second at the 2005 Hawkeye Intercollegiate at Finbkbine Golf Course. Iowa started the final round in third place but after shooting four under-par for the day to jump into second place for the tournament. Todd Larson shot -8 for the tournament and finished second overall.

HEAD COACH Terry Anderson — Anderson is in his 13th year as Iowa’s head coach. Anderson was a four-year letterman at Iowa State. He also serves as the Director of Golf at Iowa’s Finkbine Golf Course. He was named the PGA Golf Professional of the Year for the Iowa PGA Section in 1998 and 2004.

QUOTING COACH ANDERSON — “As of now we are averaging par as a team. Our goal this week is to keep this up and shoot even par or better for the rest of the year. If we accomplish that we will always give ourselves a chance to win.”
