Hawkeyes Finish Day Three At Midwest Regionals

EAST LANSING, MI – The Iowa Women’s Tennis team completed day three of competition at Midwest Regionals today in East Lansing, Michigan. Meg Racette, Jacqueline Lee, Hillary Mintz, and Mili Veselinovic all competed in the main draw, round of 64 today.

Meg Racette, the 12th seeded player, defeated Mariana Spilca of Minnesota, 6-1, 6-0 in first round play and went on to defeat Carrie Jeanmarie of Western Michigan, 6-1, 6-4 in second round play. Jacqueline Lee defeated Kristen Clary of Xavier, 3-6, 6-1, 6-3 in the first round and fell to the number three seed, Caitlyn Burke of Wisconsin, 6-1, 6-2 in the second round. Hillary Mintz fell to Jennifer Migan of Indiana State, 7-6, 6-1 in the first round. As the 14th seeded player, Mili Veselinovic defeated Kiki Stastny of Notre Dame 6-3, 6-0 in the first round and Malena Remynse of Western Michigan, 6-4, 6-2 in the second round.

Competition will continue tomorrow in East Lansing at the Michigan State University Tennis Center.
