BATON ROUGE, LA – The Iowa GymHawks competed at LSU this past Friday, finishing strongly with a team score of 191.150. Although it was not enough to finish first over LSU, the GymHawks improved upon their score by three points from their last competition at Oregon State.
Liz Grajewski competed well for the Hawkeyes, posting an all-around score of 38.525, for a third place finish, while Beth Dilick finished with a 28.825 for an all-around seventh place finish.
On the floor, Liz Grajewski scored 9.7 to tie for fifth place with Kelly Lea of LSU. Ally Zipse scored a 9.675 on the floor for a seventh place finish.
Danielle Legeai scored highest on beam for Iowa, with a 9.725, tying for second with Terin Martinjak of LSU. Kortny Williamson scored 9.65 on beam to tie for fifth with Emily Ellis of LSU.
Beth Dilick scored a 9.8 on vault, placing fourth, while Kortny Williamson scored 9.775 to tie for fifth with Kelly Phelan of LSU. Iowa also placed well on bars, with Katie Burke scoring 9.7 to tie for fourth with Lisa Rennie of LSU, and Liz Grajewski came in seventh for the Hawkeyes with a score of 9.575.
The Hawkeyes will compete against Iowa State at home next Saturday in the Breast Cancer Awareness Meet. Competition is set to begin at 7p.m. in the Field House.
