LINCOLN, NE –

The Iowa men’s gymnastics team defeated Nebraska by 0.15 today at the Bob Devaney Sports Center. The final score was 209.600-209.450.

Iowa senior Michael Reavis took first in the all-around (52.9) while sophomore Curtis Kleffman finished third (51.7). Reavis was crowned event champion on floor exercise (9.7), finished second on horizontal bar (9.25) and took fourth on rings (8.7). Kleffman won the pommel horse (9.15), came in second on floor exercise (8.95) and took fifth on both parallel bars (8.55) and vault (8.95).

Hawkeye senior Jacques Bouchard was the top finisher on rings, scoring a 9.4. Freshman Diego Mercado-Austin took second with a score of 8.95. Junior Drew Ignoto placed second on pommel horse (8.65). Next Saturday, the Hawkeyes host Michigan at the UI Fieldhouse. Competition is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
