MINNEAPOLIS, MN – The No. 47 Iowa women’s tennis team defeated Minnesota today, 4-3 at Baseline Tennis Center in Minneapolis.
In singles play, junior Meg Racette, currently ranked No. 21, defeated Minnesota’s Mariana Spilca at the number one singles position, 6-1, 6-0. Jacqueline Lee defeated Danielle Mousseau, 7-5, 6-1, and Krissy Dowlin defeated Megan Steiger, 6-1, 6-2.
In doubles competition, Racette/Lee defeated Reddy/Malmberg, 8-5, and Berry/Dowlin defeated Spilca/Steiger, 8-3.
The Hawkeyes will continue competition tomorrow in Minnesota, facing Dartmouth. Competition is set to begin at 12 p.m.
