GREENVILLE, SC -The Iowa Men’s Golf team finished the first 18 holes of the Furman Invitational in a four way tie with Winthrop, Virginia Tech and East Carolina for seventh place. The Hawkeyes carded a first round score of 301 (+13). Maryland is in first place after shooting 289(+1) in its first round.

Senior Brian deBuhr (-2, T2) is leading the Hawkeyes individually and is in second place overall. In his first round he carded a season low round of two-under-par 70. Cole Peevler (+5, T53), Andy Tiedt (+5, T53) and Luke Miller (+5, T53) all shot five-over-par for their first round. Dan Holterhaus (+7, T74) also competed for Iowa.

Iowa will play round two of the Furman Invitational at 8:00 on Saturday.
