NORMAN, OK –
The seventh-ranked University of Iowa men’s gymnastics team qualified for the final session of the NCAA Championships. Iowa finished third with a score of 212.425, to beat out Ohio State, Minnesota and William and Mary.
The Hawkeyes came in first on high bar, with a score of 36.75. Tom Buese and Bryan Bourland came in third on the event, scoring 9.3. On vault, Geoff Reins placed second (9.5) and Michael Reavis came in 14th (8.975). Reavis came in fourth on floor exercise, with a 9.3. Reins placed ninth, scoring 9.075 and Curtis Kleffman came in 12th (8.9). On pommel horse, Kleffman came in third (8.9) for the Hawkeyes and Drew Ignoto placed seventh (8.4). Matt Beiler placed fourth on rings with a score of 9.350 and Jacques Bouchard came in fifth (9.2).
The Hawkeyes compete in the team finals on Friday at 7 p.m. in Norman, OK. The event finals will be on Saturday at 7 p.m. in Norman, OK.
