Former Hawkeyes Get Promoted

IOWA CITY – Former University of Iowa baseball players Nathan Johnson and Nate Price have both taken the next step in their professional careers with recent minor league promotions.

Johnson has been promoted to the Reading Phillies, the AA affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies. Johnson got the call after posting a 6-2 record with the Class A Clearwater Thrashers. He had a 2.56 ERA, 39 strikeouts and just eight walks.

Price moved up to the Daytona Cubs, the high-A affiliate of the Chicago Cubs. He was promoted after just 16 games with the Peoria Cubs.
