McCurdy Named Co-Offensive Player of the Week

IOWA CITY, IA –

The Big Ten Conference named sophomore forward Caitlin McCurdy as Co-Offensive Player of the Week along with Penn State’s Mallory Weisen today. It is McCurdy’s third weekly Big Ten honor of her career.

McCurdy picked up the accolade for her efforts in helping the Hawkeyes earn a win against Kent State and in an overtime loss to No. 3 Duke. McCurdy scored one goal and had two assists in a 5-1 victory over Kent State. She then went on to score two more goals in a 3-2 overtime loss to No. 3 Duke, finishing the weekend with a total of three goals and two assists.

The 2005 Big Ten Freshmen Player of the Year leads the Hawkeye offense with four goals and 10 points so far this season.

Iowa returns to action this Saturday when they play Villanova in West Chester, PA.
