CORAL GABLES, FL – The Iowa women’s tennis team completed its second day of competition at the Miami Hurricane Fall Invitational today. Iowa won two doubles matches and five singles matches.
In singles play, Jacqueline Lee defeated Elodie Wendling of Florida Atlantic, 6-1, 6-1, while Mili Veselinovic defeated Ina Hadziselimovic of Clemson, 6-0, 6-2. Kayla Berry and Kelcie Klockenga competed in the same draw, and both were successful. Berry defeated Danielle Simone of Florida Atlantic, 6-4, 6-0, and Klockenga defeated Samantha Eppelsheimer of Clemson, 6-4, 6-3. Berry and Klockenga will compete against each other tomorrow for first place in the draw.
In doubles competition, Veselinovic/Beelen defeated Bartnik/Terol of Florida Atlantic, 8-2, and Lee/Klockenga defeated Simone/Toteuska, also representing Florida Atlantic, with a score of 8-1. Mintz/Berry were defeated by Fountain/Zabala of Florida International, 8-4.
Iowa will continue competition tomorrow at the Neil Schiff Tennis Center on the University of Miami campus.
