The Big Ten Network: Programming Schedule
The Grey team currently leads the fall intrasquad World Series, 2-1, which is being played at Duane Banks Field. Game four is slated for Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. The series is a best-of-five.
Game 1
Black wins 1-0
Black scored the only run on an error in the third inning. Both squads featured solid pitching performances. Brock Alberts pitched three scoreless innings for the win. Despite giving up only the one unearned run in three innings, Nick Erdman took the loss. Freshman Tony Manville finished out the seventh inning for the save. Offensively ,Stavone Martin had two hits for black.
Game 2
Grey wins 9-8
In a back and forth game the Grey Team scored the winning run on a fielders choice in the bottom of the sixth inning off the bat of Mike Voitik. Voitik and Jeff Pacha each had two hits for the Grey squad. Justin Brauer had two hits for the Black team. Matt Mossey picked up the victory for the Grey team, while Jason Belk took the loss for the Black. In a game that featured mostly offense, senior David Conroy threw a scoreless fifth to keep the Grey team in the game.
Game 3
Grey wins 4-2
In another well pitched game the Grey team picked up the win with two runs in the top of the seventh inning after the Black squad tied the score at two in the fifth. Matt Mossey picked up his second win of the series for the Grey squad while Nic Jensed was saddled with the loss. Freshman Kurtis Muller had a big day for the Grey with two hits and scoring the eventual winning run on a wild pitch in the seventh. For the Black team freshman Zach McCool had two hits as well. Patrick Schatz threw three scoreless innings as the starter for the Grey squad.
