IOWA CITY, IA — The University of Iowa wrestling team held its semifinal round of wrestle-offs Friday afternoon in the Dan Gable Wrestling Complex in Carver-Hawkeye Arena.
Senior Mark Perry (165) and sophomore Brent Metcalf (149) recorded first period pins in their matches, while sophomore Thomas Magnani (133) scored his in the third period. Senior Alex Tsirtsis (141) and sophomore Joe Slaton (133) scored match-ending technical falls. Sophomore Dan LeClere (141) and redshirt freshman Jake Kerr (165) recorded major decisions in their wins.
The Hawkeyes will hold the finals Saturday at 9 a.m. All matches will be held at the Dan Gable Wrestling Complex in Carver-Hawkeye Arena and are open to the public. Admission is free.
