Hawkeye Men Will Close Home Season Saturday, March 1

The University of Iowa’s men’s basketball team will close its 2008 home schedule on Saturday, March 1 against Illinois. The game will start at 5:05 p.m. and will be televised on the Big Ten Network.

A limited number of tickets, located behind the student sections, remain for the home finale. For further ticket information, fans can contact the UI Athletic Ticket Office at 1-800-IA-HAWKS.

The dates, start times and television selections for selected Big Ten Conference games that weekend were announced Friday by the conference office. ESPN will televise the Ohio State at Minnesota contest March 1 (3 p.m.) and CBS will televise the Indiana at Michigan State game March 2 (1 p.m.).

The contest against Illinois will mark the final home game for three Hawkeye seniors, Justin Johnson, Kurt Looby and Seth Gorney. The trio will be recognized in pre-game ceremonies that day. Iowa closes the regular season at Northwestern, Tuesday, March 4 (8:05 p.m., BTN) before participating in the Big Ten Conference Tournament March 13-16 in Indianapolis.

The Hawkeyes are idle this weekend and return to action next Tuesday, Feb. 19, hosting Northwestern (8:05 p.m., BTN).
