Iowa Finds Tough Start To Invite

STATESBORO, GA –The University of Iowa men’s golf team finished the first round of competition at the EZ-GO Schenkel Invitational today. After 18 holes of strong competition, the Hawkeyes currently sit in a tie for 16th place with a score of 302 (+14). The 54-hole tournament is being played on a beautiful par 72 at Forest Heights Country Club in Statesboro, GA.

Sophomore Brad Hopfinger and freshman Brad George are leading the Hawkeyes in a tie for 36th place with a score of 74 (+2). Close behind is senior Cole Peevler, who shot a 76 (+4) on the day and is sitting in a tie for 59th place. Additionally, sophomore Vince India is tied for 78th after shooting a 78 (+6) while freshman Barrett Kelpin (82, +10) is tied for 94th.
