INDIAN WELLS, CA – The University of Iowa women’s tennis team recorded its fifth straight and tenth overall win Saturday with a 4-3 victory over No. 33 Tulsa.

Sonja Molnar and Merel Beelen, ranked 23rd nationally, faced 35th ranked JoAnne Jaraitiana and Alexandria Kichoutkin, 8-4. Kelcie Klockenga and Jessica Young also recorded a doubles win over Anastasia Erofeeva and Ewa Szatkowska, 8-5, to secure the doubles point.

Molnar, ranked 74th nationally, posted a 6-3, 6-1 win over 95th ranked Kichoutkin in the number one singles spot. Beelen battled back from being down 3-5 in the third set to record a 6-4, 6-7, 7-5 win over Erofeeva and tie the match at 3 all. Alexis Dorr came through for the Hawkeyes Saturday afternoon. The junior defeated Michelle Farley in a heated battle, 6-4, 3-6, 6-3 to win the match for Iowa.

The 10-2 Hawkeyes welcome Michigan and Michigan State next weekend to the Hawkeye Tennis and Recreation Complex.
