The Hawkeyes second varsity 8 boat finished second in their heat with a time of 6:50.4, which was also faster than their morning time.
“We came back and rowed better than we did in the morning but it wasn’t enough,” said Head Coach Mandi Kowal. “Texas came through with a nice game plan and executed well.”

The boat of Emily Melvold, Katherine Radasavich, Chloe Zwiacher, Morgan Finn, and Megan Clancy came in second in the event with a time of 7:45.5.
