Iowa to Host Coe at Corridor Classic

IOWA CITY, IA – The Iowa Hawkeye baseball team will take on the Coe Kohawks tomorrow at 6:35 p.m. at the 2010 Corridor Classic at Perfect Game Field at Veterans Memorial Stadium in Cedar Rapids.

General admission seats are $7. Tickets in the Pavilion that include all-you-can-eat privileges are $25. For more information, or to order tickets, contact the Cedar Rapids Kernels Ticket Office at 319-896-7560.

The last time the two teams faced off was Mar. 28, 2009 at Duane Banks Field. Iowa beat Coe, 8-2. In the win, the pitching staff threw a solid three-hit game, Iowa’s base runners stole six bases and eight Hawkeyes picked up a hit.

Gates will open at 5 p.m. and kids can go on the field and play catch with Iowa and Coe players from 5:45-6:15 p.m.

Coe Head Football Coach Steve Staker, who was named Division III National Coach of the Year, will be honored before the game. Ceremonial first pitches will be thrown out by Iowa Associate Head Women’s Basketball Coach Jan Jensen and Coe Head Women’s Basketball Coach, and former Hawkeye, Randi Peterson.
