IOWA CITY, IA – Openings are still available for the 2010 Hawkeye Summer Tennis Camp. Women’s tennis head coach Katie Dougherty is hosting the five-day camp June 21-25 at the Hawkeye Tennis and Recreation Complex. Players of all skill levels ages 9-18 are invited to attend. Cost to attend the camp is $325 per camper.
Members of the 2010 Hawkeyes, assistant coach Mira Radu and other collegiate coaches from around the country will be on hand to assist Dougherty and provide a fun and enthusiastic atmosphere.
Dougherty just completed her first season as head coach of the Hawkeyes. She guided Iowa to a 17-7 record and a trip to the NCAA tournament. Iowa burst into the national spotlight March 2, ranked 54th nationally, and moved to 25th two weeks later. The Hawkeyes were regulars in the top 30 this season, reaching as high as 18th, a program best, in the March 28 rankings.
