IOWA CITY, IA – It is officially summer, which means youth camp season at the University of Iowa.
Last week, Iowa men’s basketball Head Coach Fran McCaffery, his coaching staff and current and former Iowa student-athletes, along with other volunteers hosted Day Camp for third-seventh graders on the UI campus. Campers worked on improving their ball handling, shooting, passing and defensive skills. The youngsters also competed in contests and games, watched videos on basketball fundamentals, listened to basketball lessons from the Hawkeye staff and received instruction and demonstration from current and former Hawkeye players.
Camps continue this week with Overnight Camp for youths ages 10 to those entering 12th grade. This week’s camp began Sunday and continues through Thursday.
