Willis and Host Make Prospect League All-Star Rosters

IOWA CITY, IA – – University of Iowa baseball student-athletes Trevor Willis and Andrew Host have been selected to the 2010 Prospect League All-Star Game, which will be played July 6 at QU Stadium in Quincy, Illinois.

Both Willis and Host, a senior and redshirt sophomore, respectively, will play outfield for the West squad. Host has been playing for the Quincy Gems, while Willis has been playing for the Springfield Sliders this summer.

Willis has helped the Sliders to a first place standing in the Prospect League West Division with a 15-8 record. The native of Homer Glen, IL, boasts a .520 slugging percentage, and has notched 14 RBI, three home runs, three triples and three doubles.

Host has played in 22 games this summer, hitting .333 and boasting a .416 on-base percentage. He has collected 11 RBI, 11 stolen bases and nine walks at the midway point.

All-Star activities include a pro scout workout for the players, a home run derby and postgame fireworks.
