Tonight's Big Ten Opener Completely Sold Out

Dec. 29, 2010

IOWA CITY, Iowa — Fran McCaffery and the Iowa Hawkeyes will likely experience a couple of firsts in tonight’s game against 23rd-ranked Illinois – the first Big Ten contest and the first sellout of Carver-Hawkeye Arena for the 2010-11 season.

A limited number of general admission standing room only tickets were made available this afternoon but have all been sold making tonight’s game against the Illini a sell out. It marks Iowa’s first sell out since March 1, 2008, coincidentally also against Illinois.

Fans are encouraged to arrive early to avoid long lines at the ticket windows if they are picking up tickets purchased in advance.

The Hawkeyes (7-5, 0-0) have won four of their last five contests, while the Fighting Illini (10-3, 0-0) have lost two straight after winning 10 of its first 11 to start the season.
