IOWA CITY, Iowa – Openings are still available for the 2011 Hawkeye Tennis Summer Camp. Women’s tennis head coach Katie Dougherty is hosting two five-day camps at the Hawkeye Tennis and Recreation Complex from June 27 – July 1 and July 11-15. Players of all skill levels ages 9-18 are invited to attend.
Members of the 2011 Hawkeyes, assistant coach Jesse Medvene-Collins and other collegiate coaches from around the country will be on staff to assist Dougherty and provide a fun and enthusiastic atmosphere.
The Hawkeyes opened the season ranked No. 30 in the country. Iowa’s No. 1 singles player, Sonja Molnar, is ranked No. 116 by the ITA. She and her doubles partner, Jessica Young, are ranked No. 24 by the ITA. The pair has defeated five ranked opponents in 2011.
