Landlocked...Not Headlocked

Aug. 26, 2011

IOWA CITY, Iowa – We’re only days away from FRYfest 2011 – when the life of the University of Iowa’s Dan Gable will take center stage – but that doesn’t mean fans of the Hall of Fame head coach don’t have something to celebrate this weekend.

Freestyle: The Victories of Dan Gable will be show at 6 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 28, at the Englert Theatre in Downtown Iowa City as part of the fifth annual Landlocked Film Festival. Freestyle offers a special look at the life and career of Gable, one of the most celebrated American athletes of all time both as a gold medal-winning Olympian and, later, as the head coach of the Iowa Hawkeyes.

Gable will appear at the screening with the documentary’s director, Kevin Kelley, and producer, David L. Gould. Tickets cost just $7 and can be purchased in advance by clicking HERE.
