IOWA CITY, Iowa — The Big Ten Network (BTN) today released its baseball and softball television schedules for 2012.
The University of Iowa baseball team will appear on the network a minimum of two times. The Hawkeyes’ road game at Minnesota on April 29 (3 p.m.) and its home contest versus Purdue on May 18 (6:30 p.m.) will be televised. Both games have time changes to from the original schedule to allow for the live television coverage.
In addition, a wildcard game on May 19 will be selected by the network and every Big Ten Tournament game (May 23-27) will be televised live from Columbus, Ohio.
The UI softball team will appear seven times on BTN, with six of the games coming on the road. The Hawkeyes make their first appearance in an April 7 doubleheader at Northwestern (noon). Iowa’s only televised home game will be on April 15 against Nebraska (3 p.m.).
Road contests at Michigan State (April 22, 11 a.m.); Minnesota (May 11, 7 p.m.) and its doubleheader at Ohio State (May 5, 5 p.m.) will all be televised live. In addition, a wildcard game will be picked for air on May 12.
