IOWA CITY, Iowa — The University of Iowa baseball team hosts Bradley in a mid-week contest Wednesday night. The Hawkeyes face the Braves at 6:05 p.m. at Duane Banks Field. Admission is $3 for adults, and free for students. The game marks the first of four-straight home games for Iowa.

The Hawkeyes (15-16, 4-5) are 6-2 at home this season. Iowa opened its home slate with a 20-1 win over Grant View on March 21. Iowa then won 2-of-3 in its Big Ten opening series against Northwestern from March 23-25. Iowa dropped a 3-1 decision to Nebraska-Omaha at home March 28. Most recently, the Hawkeyes swept South Dakota State on April 3 (6-2) and April 4 (11-4) before defeating Western Illinois on April 10, 8-7.

Iowa has won five of its last seven contests overall and its last four nonconference games.

Last week, the Hawkeyes won two nonconference contests. Iowa rallied to beat Western Illinois Tuesday night at home on a game-winning bases loaded walk in the bottom of the ninth, 8-7. The Hawkeyes trailed 7-5 entering their final at-bat before scoring three runs to earn the mid-week victory.

Iowa defeated South Dakota State on Saturday on a neutral field at TD Ameritrade Park in Omaha, Neb., 6-1. The Hawkeyes were led on the mound by Sasha Kuebel. The freshman tossed eight solid innings equaling a career high, allowing one run on two hits. He struck out five Jackrabbits en route to his third victory of the season (3-0). Fellow starter Matt Dermody saw action out of the Iowa bullpen. The junior pitched the ninth in relief, allowing zero hits and no runs, while striking out one.

Bradley, led by head coach Elvis Dominguez, is 18-14-1. Dominguez is a graduate of Creighton University (1986) and was an assistant coach at Iowa for four seasons (1998-2001). Dominguez and Dahm played together at Creighton in 1986. The Braves are 9-4 in true road games. Bradley split two games versus Indiana State over the weekend. Iowa is 40-35-2 all-time against Bradley.

Iowa returns to Big Ten action when it hosts Penn State for a three-game set at Duane Banks Field this weekend. The Hawkeyes and Nittany Lions will open the series at 6:05 p.m. on Friday.
