IOWA CITY, Iowa — University of Iowa head men’s basketball coach Fran McCaffery will meet the media at 2 p.m. (CT) Tuesday to talk about the Hawkeyes’ Thursday night home game against Penn State.
The weekly briefing with local, regional and national media will be held in the Media Room inside Carver-Hawkeye Arena, and be available live from start to finish on Hawkeye All-Access, the multimedia portal inside hawkeyesports.com, the official worldwide website of the Iowa Hawkeyes.
Thursday’s game is set to begin at 7:02 p.m. (CT) on Mediacom Court inside Carver-Hawkeye Arena. The game will be televised on ESPNU with Dan Gutowsky and Adrian Branch calling the action.
The Nittany Lions are 8-4 overall and 0-8 in Big Ten play. Penn State, who is playing without the services of its top player, Tim Frazier, fell at home to No. 14 Ohio State, 65-51, on Jan. 26.
Iowa, which is in the midst of playing 4-of-5 games on the road, has dropped its last two contests at No. 14 Ohio State (72-63) and at Purdue (65-62, OT). The Hawkeyes currently sit at 13-7 overall and 2-5 in Big Ten action.
Iowa and Penn State have split the last eight games in the series with each team defending its home court a season ago. The Hawkeyes have a 23-13 advantage overall, and they have won 15 of the last 22 and 19 of the last 27 meetings.
Tickets are available for $22 (adults), and it is “UI Student Night” with Iowa students receiving FREE admission with a valid ID. The first 1,500 fans will received a Herky Bobblehead, and it is a “Family Four Pack Night” with fans being able to purchase four tickets, four hot dogs and four Cokes for $70 (advance purchase is required).
