HOUSTON — The University of Iowa women’s swimming and diving team completed the first day of the NCAA Zone D Diving Championships at the Campus Recreation and Wellness Center Natatorium in Houston, Texas.
All three Hawkeyes competed in the preliminary round of the 3-meter competition. Redshirt sophomore Joelle Christy accumulated 275.70 points to finish 22nd overall. Junior Abby Grilli collected a point total of 266.85 to place 25th in the event. Junior Lauren Kelba finished in 39th with 230.70 points. Iowa did not advance to the final round of the 3-meter.
Action resumes tomorrow at 11 p.m. with the women’s 1-meter competition.
