Oct. 2, 2013

PACIFIC PALASADES, Calif. – University of Iowa women’s tennis players Ruth Seaborne and Morven McCulloch fell short in the second round of the Qualifying Doubles bracket at the ITA All-American Championships earlier today.

In a match that lasted nearly two hours, senior Ruth Seaborne and junior Morven McCulloch were defeated by Texas’ Breaunna Addison and Pippa Horn, the No. 41-ranked doubles team in the country, 8-6.

“Morven and Ruth competed well today, just came up a little short,” said head coach Katie Dougherty. “The match came down to one break. They’ve played better each match this fall and continue to improve.”

Next up for the Hawkeye duo is a stop at the ITA Regional Championships in Norman, Okla. beginning on Oct. 17.
