Hawkeyes to Make 20 Appearances on BTN/BTDN

March 19, 2014

IOWA CITY, Iowa –The University of Iowa baseball team will make 20 appearances on the Big Ten Network or Big Ten Digital Network during the 2014 season, the network announced Wednesday.

The Hawkeyes will make their BTDN debut March 26, hosting Bradley at Banks Field at 3 p.m. (CT) before all three games of the conference series at Michigan (March 28-30) will be available online. After streaming a midweek home game against Kansas on April 8, the entire three-game series at Northwestern (April 11-13) will be on the digital network.

After the first and third games of Iowa’s nonconference home series against South Dakota State (April 25-27) and the series opener at Ohio State on May 3 are streamed on the BTDN, Iowa’s next two games in Columbus, Ohio, will be televised live on the BTN. The middle game of the series May 4 will begin at 2:05 p.m. before Monday’s May 5 finale will be televised in primetime beginning at 6:05 p.m.

The Hawkeyes’ final seven regular season games will be available via the Big Ten Digital Network. Iowa hosts Upper Iowa on May 7 and Illinois from May 9-11 at Banks Field. The team closes out the season with a three-game series at Purdue from May 15-17.

The BTN will also televise up to 11 games of the 2014 Big Ten Tournament at T.D. Ameritrade Stadium. The top eight teams in the final regular season standings will advance to Omaha to compete from May 21-25.

Highlights and coverage of Big Ten baseball and softball will be featured on This Week in the Big Ten, a new studio show which airs Sunday nights beginning April 6. Hosts Rick Pizzo, Mike Hall and various analysts will discuss Big Ten matchups and breakout performances from the weekend’s games. The Diamond Report will return with nightly airings during the baseball and softball tournaments.

All Iowa home games not streamed as part of the BTDN schedule will be available via Hawkeye All-Access (audio and video) at hawkeyesports.com.
