IOWA CITY, Iowa — University of Iowa women’s tennis head coach Katie Dougherty announced Wednesday that Montana Crawford and Anastasia Reimchen have signed National Letters of Intent to join the Hawkeye program in 2014.

Crawford is a native of Rockwood, Ontario, and attends John F. Ross Collegiate Vocational Institute. She has won nine junior tournament titles since 2011, and placed runner-up at the National Selection GS-U18 Tournament in 2014.

Reimchen hails from Forest Row, England. She has reached as high as No. 503 on the ITF junior rankings and competed in 17 countries on the junior circuit. She plays on the Sussex team in Great Britain, and won the County Cup in 2011.

“We’re excited to welcome Montana and Anastasia to the program,” said Dougherty. “They bring experience, athleticism, and the character of student-athletes that are successful here. Anastasia has extensive international experience and a great left-handed style of play. Montana is very athletic and has a huge upside to her game. They will bring immediate depth to our lineup in both singles and doubles.”

Crawford and Reimchen are the second and third players to commit to the Hawkeyes’ 2014 recruiting class. Detroit native Adorabol Huckleby signed with the Hawkeyes in November.
