IOWA CITY, Iowa — USA Wrestling has announced the athlete selection procedures for the 2016 Olympic Games in men’s freestyle and Greco-Roman.

Each athlete that wishes to represent the United States at the 2016 Rio Olympics must first qualify in any given weight category at the 2016 U.S. Olympic Team Trails, hosted by the University of Iowa at Carver-Hawkeye Arena from April 9-10.

All-Session tickets for the Olympic Trials are available at the UI Athletics Ticket Office or online at iowacitytorio.com.

Fourteen freestyle wrestlers, including United States World Team members Tony Ramos and Brent Metcalf, have already qualified for the Olympic Trials.

Ten Greco-Roman wrestlers have also pre-qualified. Among them is Iowa redshirt freshman Sam Stoll, a 2015 Junior World Team member.

A complete list of qualifiers, and qualifying events, is available at themat.com.

The athlete procedures for women’s freestyle are not yet approved. Those details will be announced when the proposed approval process is completed.
