WEST LAFAYETTE, Indiana – University of Iowa women’s tennis team saw wins in both doubles and singles matches on day two of the Purdue Invitational.
Natalie Looney and Aimee Tarun both won their singles matches. Looney went 6-2, 6-3 against Ana Rajkovic of Miami University. Tarun defeated Emily Struble of Miami University, winning 6-4, 6-4.
Both doubles teams went 1-1 again for the second day. The tennis duo of Adorabol Huckleby and Aimee Tarun won 6-4 over Shteyn and Shapovalova of Miami University. Natalie Looney and Zoe Douglas also got a 6-2 win over Harrison and Kelly of Mississippi State.
“We had another solid day in both singles and doubles,” said UI head coach Katie Dougherty. “We have one more round of singles tomorrow and looking forward to finishing strong.”
Tournament action returns at 9 a.m. (ET) with matches being held both indoors and outdoors.
