STILLWATER, Oklahoma — The University of Iowa Women’s Tennis Team completed day one at the ITA Central Regional Championship in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Both doubles teams of Reimchen/Dohanics and Douglas/Looney were able to advance to the second round of play.
“It was a very hot day and everyone played three tough matches,” said UI assistant coach Denise Dy. “We did a great job handling the heat and competed well. It was a good day overall.”
Annette Dohanics, Anastasia Reimchen, and Natalie Looney all won their singles matches on day one in Stillwater. Dohanics won 6-2, 6-1 over Katerina Matysova. Reimchen defeated Florencia Magni of South Dakota State, 6-3, 6-1. Looney got her win over Tori Roberts of Arkansas State, 6-2, 6-3. Overall, Hawkeyes were 3-1 on single matches for the day.
Tournament action will continue on Friday at 9 a.m. (CT)
