Iowa Earns No. 5 Seed in 2016 B1G Tournament

IOWA CITY, Iowa — The 15th-ranked University of Iowa field hockey team has earned the No. 5 seed in the 2016 Big Ten Tournament. The Hawkeyes (12-6; 4-4) will face No. 4-seeded and 10th-ranked Northwestern (12-7; 5-3) in the opening round on Thursday, Nov. 3 at 4:30 p.m. (CT) in College Park, Maryland.
 
The Hawkeyes defeated the ninth-ranked Wildcats, 2-1, in Evanston, Illinois on Oct. 14. Freshman Sophie Sunderland scored the game-winning goal in the overtime victory.
 
BTN will provide live television coverage of the quarterfinals, semifinals and championship game of the Big Ten Field Hockey Tournament.
