Hawkeyes Set For Kitty Harrison Invite

IOWA CITY, Iowa — The University of Iowa women’s tennis team concludes its fall season this weekend at the Kitty Harrison Invite at the University of North Carolina. The tournament consists of singles and doubles duals beginning on Friday and ending on Sunday.
 
“This is a great opportunity for us to finish the fall the season against some of the best competition in the nation,” said UI head coach Sasha Schmid. “The team has worked hard since regionals and I’m looking forward to seeing them compete. It’s our last chance to play until the season begins in January, so it’s an important weekend for us.”
 
Zoe Douglas, Elise van Heuvelen, Anastasia Reimchen, Adorabol Huckleby, Kristen Thoms, Aimee Tarun, Montana Crawford, and Carin Runefelt are all participating in singles and doubles. Senior Natalie Looney will make her fall season debut this weekend participating in doubles matches.
 
Iowa faces William & Mary in doubles matches and North Carolina in singles matches on Friday. On Saturday, the Hawkeyes face Eastern Carolina University in doubles matches and Texas in singles matches. The Hawkeyes conclude the invite on Sunday when they face Duke in singles matches.
 
Results will be posted on hawkeyesports.com at the end of each day. The Hawkeyes begin the regular season Sunday, Jan. 15 against the University of Central Florida in Orlando, Florida.
