IOWA CITY, Iowa — University of Iowa redshirt freshman Cash Wilcke has entered the 197-pound bracket at the 2017 NCAA Championships in St. Louis, Missouri, on March 16-18.

Wilcke was the first man out when the NCAA announced the 33 qualifiers Tuesday, but a medical injury to another competitor opened up an at-large spot in the tournament field.

He is the second Hawkeye to earn an at-large berth and the ninth Hawkeye qualified for the NCAA Championships. Joey Gunther was awarded an at-large berth Tuesday. Seven others earned automatic bids at the conference tournament. They include Thomas Gilman (125), Cory Clark (133), Topher Carton (141), Brandon Sorensen (149), Michael Kemerer (157), Alex Meyer (174), and Sammy Brooks (184).
