THIS WEEK FOR THE HAWKEYES
The University of Iowa women’s tennis team travels to Michigan to face the No. 9 Wolverines at 2:30 p.m. (CT) on Saturday, and Michigan State at 11 a.m. (CT) on Sunday.

TAKING ON THE WOLVERINES
Michigan enters the weekend ranked No. 9 in the ITA National Team Rankings, and has two individuals and two doubles teams in the ITA Rankings. The Wolverines have a 15-4 (7-0) record, and are undefeated on their home court (8-0). They have suffered losses to USC (5-2), No. 1 Florida (4-1), No. 4 North Carolina (4-0), and No. 5 Ohio State (5-1). Michigan leads the overall series between the two schools, 38-12. The Last time the Hawkeyes beat the Wolverines was in 2006. Michigan defeated Iowa in the Big Ten Tournament that year, 4-3.

TAKING ON THE SPARTANS 
The Spartans come into the weekend with a 15-5 (5-2) record. They have only lost one match on their home court. The Spartans Big Ten losses came at the hands of No. 9 Michigan (4-0) and Maryland (5-2). Like Iowa, Michigan State has defeated Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Indiana. The Hawkeyes lead the overall series against the Spartans, 31-15. The last time Iowa beat Michigan State was in 2013.

HAWKEYES SHOCK THE SHOCKERS
The University of Iowa women’s tennis team defeated No. 50 Wichita State, 4-3, on Monday at the Hawkeye Tennis & Recreation Complex. The win marks Iowa’s first victory over a ranked opponent since 2014.

HOT STREAK FOR HUCKLEBY
Sophomore Adorabl Huckleby is currently on a two-match win streak in singles and doubles play. After playing majority of the season at the No. 2 and No. 3 doubles positions and posting a 2-4 record, Huckleby was moved to the No. 1 position. Paired with freshman Elise van Heuvelen, the No. 1 doubles team has gone, 3-2, defeating No. 50 Wichita State’s No. 1 team. Huckleby has also won her last two singles matches defeating Marta Bellucco in the final match to defeat No. Wichita State, 4-3.

HAWKEYES AGAINST RANKED OPPONENTS 
The Hawkeyes will play their sixth ranked opponent of the season in No. 9 Michigan on Saturday. Iowa defeated No. 50 Wichita State last weekend, 4-3. The victory marks Iowa’s first win over a ranked opponent since 2014. The Hawkeyes have also faced No. 43 Maryland, No. 26 FIU, No. 40 Northwestern, and No. 3 Ohio State this season.

UP NEXT FOR THE HAWKEYES
The Hawkeyes returns to the court next weekend for their last regular season match. Iowa hosts Nebraska on Saturday at noon (CT) at The Hawkeye Tennis and Recreation Complex. Iowa will honor its seniors before the match begins. Admission is free.
