IOWA CITY, Iowa — University of Iowa freshman Elise Van Heuvelen and sophomore Adorabol Huckleby are ranked No. 74 in the final International Tennis Association Division I double rankings.
The duo joined forces at the top of Iowa’s doubles lineup March 31 and posted a 6-3 record over the final nine matches of the season. They finished the year with wins in five of six matches and recorded victories over No. 9 Michigan and No. 50 Wichita State.
Van Heuvelen, the Big Ten Freshman of the Year, and Huckleby, Iowa’s Big Ten Sportsmanship honoree, helped the Hawkeyes reach as high as No. 47 in the national rankings and advance to the Big Ten Tournament for the first time since 2014.
