Douglas and van Heuvelen Finish Strong at ITA Championships

PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. — University of Iowa senior Zoe Douglas and sophomore Elise van Heuvelen picked up a pair of doubles wins on their final day at the ITA All-American Championships on Wednesday.
 
38006Douglas and van Heuvelen, ranked No. 42 nationally, defeated teams from Wake Forest and Harvard, 8-4 and 8-7 (7-0), respectively.
 
“I’m really happy for both Zoe and Elise,” said UI head coach Sasha Schmid. “They finished strong at a great event that features the best players in the nation. They’ll be able to come home with confidence and build off their success for the rest of the fall.”
 
The Hawkeyes return to Oct. 19 at the ITA Central Regionals in Lawrence, Kansas.
