Gilman Places Fifth at World Championships

BUDAPEST, Hungary – University of Iowa All-American and Hawkeye Wrestling Club member Thomas Gilman placed fifth at the 2018 UWW World Championships in Budapest Hungary. 

Gilman went 2-2 in the tournament. He won his first two matches before falling in the semifinals and again in the bronze medal match. 
 
Gilman won a silver medal at the 2017 World Championships, helping Team USA win the team title for the first time in 22 years. He competes for a bronze medal Monday following the repechage, which begins at 3:30 a.m. (CT).
