19 Hawkeyes to Compete at U23 and UWW Junior Nationals

IOWA CITY, Iowa – Nineteen members of the University of Iowa Wrestling program compete Saturday and Sunday at the 2020 USA Wrestling U23 and UWW Junior Nationals. The event is hosted by MECA-CHI Health Center of Omaha in Omaha, Nebraska.

10 Hawkeyes are in the U23 men’s freestyle division and competing for a qualifying position at the 2021 United States World Team Trials. Jeremiah Moody, a 2020 graduate and member of the Hawkeye Wrestling Club, is also in the field.

Eight Hawkeyes are competing in the UWW Junior Freestyle division. The winner earns a bid for the 2021 U.S. World Team Trials and the 2021 Junior World Team Trials, if age eligible.

U20/Junior Hawkeyes:
Gabe Christenson (92 kg), Zach Glazier (92 kg), Patrick Kennedy (79 kg), Charles Matthews (57 kg), Bretli Reyna (70 kg), Cullan Schriever (57 kg), Cobe Siebrecht (65 kg), Jesse Ybarra (57 kg).
